Handmade custom furniture, restoration, and doodads

If you can dream it, let’s cook it up.

My Story

Hi, my name is Andrew, and I am the creator of Jezak Woodworks. My journey as a woodworker started young. My grandfather was a crafty, savvy woodworker and my dad taught me the value of working hard. So, you could say I had the goldilocks conditions to be where I am today.

As a child, I had a knack for tinkering with everything.  Often, it was a cooler idea in my head to take apart my Christmas gifts than play with them.  As I grew, I upgraded to crafting forts with friends out of spare lumber or scraping together chairs for my family’s outdoor fire pit.

After receiving my B.S. in Civil, Environmental, and Sustainable Engineering in 2020 from Santa Clara University, I returned home to Kansas City and move in with my parents due to COVID-19. I didn't have a job offer straight out of college.  Like many of us, I was going crazy and simply needed something to do.

Having built some outdoor furniture for my parents in high school and spending a summer apprenticing as a residential carpenter, I picked up the tools again. I looked more into crafting interior furniture – that is when I started my "second degree". YouTube videos, books, journals, local classes at the guild….I just could not get enough and became obsessed with learning the craft.

A childhood friend of mine owns a tree care business, and he hooked me up with three beautiful cherry slabs that he was holding onto. I built several tables just for family and friends and had wonderful feedback about the look and quality.  That is when I realized this was more than just a quarantine hobby – this was something worth pursuing.

Years later, I am thrilled to have the support and clientele to turn this passion into a small business creating one-off doodads that originate in uniqueness. Every piece deserves a personal touch to make it an heirloom.

Thank you for visiting my website.  I love to meet new people or catch up with old friends – so shoot me a message! Let’s talk about my previous projects or collaborate on a custom piece for you or your loved ones to cherish for years to come.  I am looking forward to it.

Sincerely,

Andrew Jezak
